Playing outdoor sports is a piece of cake.
How about having some fun?

“Outdoors” may sound somewhat annoying, but in the outskirts of Utsunomiya, you can enjoy with ease camping, hiking and others.

Utsunomiya city Forest Park

The park full of green offers casual out-door activities.
Around Akagawa Dam, there are marvelous facilities such as camping grounds, barbecue places, fishing ponds. Rental-cycles are also available.

Mt. Kogashi hiking trail

It takes about 5 hours from City Forest Park via Akagawa Dam to the peak (583 meter above sea level).
The view from the Bokyo-rock near the top is breathtaking.
Mt. Fuji can sometimes be seen from fall to winter.
May is one of the best seasons when Japanese azalea blooms.

Utsunomiya Country Club golf course

It’s 4 km from Utsunomiya interchange and situated in the center of Utsunomiya. With the prestigious atmosphere, it was opened in 1971 with 27 holes.
Resevation accepted 2 months in advance.

New Utsunomiya Country Club golf course

Opened in 1973, it has 27 holes on the hill terrain.
Three courses
: the west course-long and wide fairway
: the middle course-flat and among the woods separated with old pine trees

Kentos golf club

Just 3.8 km from Utsunomiya Interchange.
On top of the refurbished club house and courses, the hotel totally remodeled with facilities fit for long stay stands.

Tochigi prefectural Gym Pool

25 meters pool is open.
Terms and hours : all year long 10 a.m. to 8:45 p.m.

Utsunomiya Skate Center

The skating rinks for winter are 30 m and 60 m usable for icehockey, figure skating and others.
Open : October 1 to May 15
Closed : Wed.

Kinugawa Fureai (contact) Beach

Vast beach and quiet water pool are on the Kinugawa riverbed.
People can enjoy the feeling of the ocean.

The pool in Utsunomiya Zoo

Feel free to visit the pool with families during summer vacation.
Rental float life tubes are available and there are shops carrying a variety of goods.
One day combination ticket both for the zoo and an attached amusement park is available.
