The main route of access from Tokyo to Utsunomiya is as follows.
> JR Tohoku Shinkansen (Bullet train) from Tokyo sta., or Ueno sta.
> JR Utsunomiya line from Ueno sta.
> Tobu line from Asakusa sta.
> Tohoku Express Way
The Tohoku Shinkansen departs many times from both Tokyo and Ueno sta., and stops at Utsunomiya station. However, please be careful of some exception. Some Shinkansens do not stop at Utsunomiya sta. A fast train “Rabbit” is convenient if you use JR Utsunomiya line. It runs between Ueno sta. and Kuroiso.
By Tobu line:
Tobu Utsunomiya station is located in the central city. You can get on the rabid train of Tobu Nikko line, and change to Tobu Utsunomiya line at Shin-tochigi station.
By car:

From Sendai: Get off at Utsunomiya I.C. of Tohoku Express Way
